Who is Radhika Nathwani?
I’m an Indian-born fine artist based in Vienna. My paintings weave together surrealism, symbolism, and the emotional landscapes of human experience. I began my journey in advertising and graphic design, but my true calling led me to oil on canvas. Since 2006, Vienna has been my home and my muse, shaping the way I merge my Indian heritage with European influences. Learn more →

What inspires your work?
Each series is born from a conversation between reality and imagination—where memory, identity, and dream states meet. From vibrant pixels to intimate figurative forms, my paintings invite you to look beyond the obvious.

My work unfolds across several series:

• Pixel Series – Exploring identity in the digital age through colour blocks and fragmented portraits.

• Intimate Series – The human form as a story, never as an object.

• Dream & Fantasy – Surreal worlds and myth-inspired landscapes.

• Technology Series – Monumental interpretations of mechanical and digital forms.

What medium do you work in?
I paint primarily in oil on canvas, combining classical techniques with the bold clarity of my graphic design background.
